SAILING SCHOOL

The Barrie Yacht Club Sailing School has been going on for over 20 years. It is the largest sailing school on Lake Simcoe. Entering into our program will have your child working towards a CanSail level through the Ontario Sailing Association. All our instructors are fully qualified CanSail Instructors. Not only will your child learn how to sail vibes, lasers, laser II's or 420's - they will enjoy fun and games in a safe environment. From Olympic day to pajama day two weeks of Sailing School will be the most fun your child will have all summer!

RACING RESULTS

The Barrie Yacht Club has a long established racing program, recognized by many as the best yacht racing club on the lake. We have a full schedule of windward-leeward style racing every Wednesday evening and medium to long distance races on weekends, typically combined with the inter-club Lake Simcoe Interclub Series (LSIS). The racing program runs from mid-May to mid-October. Boats usually leave the docks on Wednesday nights between 5:45 and 6:00 PM. Some weekend races start as early as 10 AM.
