CANSail 3 & 4
CANSail 3 and 4 builds upon the fundamental sailing skills learned in Cansail 2 while introducing more advanced sailing techniques. The courses emphasize boat speed, maneuver efficiency and technical accuracy. Sailors generally require at least 4 weeks of training to demonstrate and complete the skill set. Sailors in level 4 are required to compete in a regatta to complete the level. Our courses are offered in 2-week blocks to allow for all the material to be covered. These levels are appropriate for ages 11 thru 19+
You do not need to be a member to learn sailing at the BYC.
CANSail 3
Learn to sail fast! Applied skill acquisition in larger double-handed boats (420s and/or Laser II’s). Sailors enjoy more time training on-water and are given the opportunity to try racing. Great adventures on the harbour and out on the lake continue!
CANSail 4
Learn to always sail fast! Sailors are training to tune and handle their boats with ease. They will begin to fully understand what does and doesn’t make the boat move faster. They gain a fundamental understanding of basic strategy, tactics and physics. Sailors are encouraged to participate in some local regattas!
