Great Room Survey Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. The BYC executive has been working on updating the Great Room Usage Policy. A sub-committee with Bill Mindell, Steve Sperling and Jacquie Ottema provided their recommendations. Thank you to the committee. After receiving the recommendations, the Executive decided we needed further clarity around a few areas to better reflect the needs and requirements of our current members. Currently, the Great Room policy allows for all members to rent the room for an event for a fee (currently $250). However, over the years we have had some members express an interest in using it for meetings, family gatherings, to teach courses, to host seminars, or to use it when their picnic suddenly gets rained on. The room now often sits empty. This is why we turn to you, our members, to help guide the final policy. We need you to answer just a few questions. The Great Room is reserved exclusively for Club organized functions during July and August. During the 10 other months of the year, if the room is available, a member may request to rent the Great Room and kitchen for a reasonable rental fee (currently $250). The fee covers expenses incurred by the Club to make the room available (i.e. snow plowing in the winter). Would you support allowing members to rent the Great Room during July and August for a higher rental fee when it is available and there are no club functions organized?YesNoShould we charge a higher fee for rental of the Great Room during July and August? YesNoOver the years, there has been discussions around using the Great Room as a source of revenue allowing non-member rental. If there were clear parameters (ie. no use of parking, no use during club events, members having first options for use) would you be in favour of the Board exploring this opportunity?YesNoAdditional comments or suggestionsSubmit
