Great Room Survey

The BYC executive has been working on updating the Great Room Usage Policy. A sub-committee with Bill Mindell, Steve Sperling and Jacquie Ottema provided their recommendations. Thank you to the committee.

After receiving the recommendations, the Executive decided we needed further clarity around a few areas to better reflect the needs and requirements of our current members.

Currently, the Great Room policy allows for all members to rent the room for an event for a fee (currently $250). However, over the years we have had some members express an interest in using it for meetings, family gatherings, to teach courses, to host seminars, or to use it when their picnic suddenly gets rained on. The room now often sits empty.

This is why we turn to you, our members, to help guide the final policy. We need you to answer just a few questions.

The Great Room is reserved exclusively for Club organized functions during July and August. During the 10 other months of the year, if the room is available, a member may request to rent the Great Room and kitchen for a reasonable rental fee (currently $250). The fee covers expenses incurred by the Club to make the room available (i.e. snow plowing in the winter).
